Job Description:

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Purchasing Assistant 2 at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, the Purchasing Assistant 2 supports daily hospital operations by coordinating the receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment. This position maintains accurate inventory records, monitors stock levels, identifies replenishment needs, and assists with supply requests to support timely availability of essential items.



Job Responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities include checking incoming shipments for accuracy, reporting discrepancies, organizing storage areas, and conducting inventory counts. The Purchasing Assistant 2 works with hospital departments and purchasing staff to address supply needs, resolve routine inventory issues, and maintain accountability for hospital property and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Receive, store, and distribute materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain inventory records and conduct periodic inventory counts.
  • Organize stock and storage areas to keep supplies orderly and accessible.
  • Respond to staff requests and provide customer service.
  • Pick up and deliver materials and equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain clean and organized warehouse areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related experience in inventory, purchasing, or supply chain management; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Purchasing Agent 1 (FET040) or equivalent position.
