POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: PT Library Assistant – Mt. View Campus

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under minimal supervision, responsible for daily operation and maintenance of circulation desk. Provides reference and research services to patrons; assists with maintenance of periodical subscriptions; assists with ordering and receipt of library materials. Balances and reconciles accounting records and prepares reports. Supervises and monitors the daily work of student assistants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma
- Two years’ experience in the library/information field
- Experience with online databases and Internet research
- Must be proficient in word processing
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
- Knowledge of computers, software, and library systems
- Ability to do detailed work accurately plus the ability to work both independently and with others
- Capability to learn and accurately interpret established library procedures and regulations
- Able to work through constant interruptions and exhibit a friendly, helpful attitude
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (In addition the minimum requirements)
- Associate degree or two or more years of college
SALARY/ BENEFITS: Salary is $17 per hour/19 hours maximum; No benefits. Please be aware that all Chattahoochee Technical College employees must be paid by DIRECT DEPOSIT unless exempted by the State Accounting Office based on “hardship” evidence provided by the employee.
