POSITION:                           Part-Time Audio Visual (AV) Assistant, Ramsey Conference Center

 

REPORTS TO:                      Operations Manager, Ramsey Conference Center

 

SALARY:                              $16 - $20 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

 

SCHEDULE:                        As needed for events, up to 19 hours per week. Includes both nights and weekends.

 

DEADLINE:                         Submit requested information by 6pm on October 25th, 2026

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Audio Video Assistant is responsible for assisting in the technical production of events at the Ramsey Conference Center. Coordinates and/or supervises the set up and break down of production equipment and lighting in meeting rooms for all functions. Coordinates with and assists operations at the Conference Center when needed. Works closely with AV Coordinator, Operations Manager, and Sales Office to prepare for each event.

 

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Set up and confirm AV needs for events scheduled at the Conference Center
  • Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, nights and weekends based on the event schedule;
  • Assists in operations of events at the Conference Center
  • Provides basic A/V support
  • Assists with preventative maintenance of AV equipment
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A High School diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of work-related experience.


PHYSICAL COMPONENTS:

Requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, crouching, climbing (including working from ladders), lifting light and heavy objects (up to 35 lbs.), and using tools and equipment that require finger and hand dexterity.

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, juggle multiple and competing priorities, and participate in appropriate staff development and campus activities;
  • Must work well under minimal supervision to manage AV production for events at the Ramsey Conference Center;
  • Professional attitude and strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required;
  • Effective skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public;
  • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of position.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to minimum qualifications, physical components, and competencies)

  • More than six (6) months of work-related experience
  • Work-related experience in a post-secondary educational environment
  • Knowledge of Crestron systems and livestreaming

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree *and* Three (3) years of work related experience -Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned. - -Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
