This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Student Affairs Division that reports to the Director of Admissions and Coordinator. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education.
Salary – $13.50 per
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled Gwinnett Technical College student who is in good academic standing and eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester. Candidates must be available approximately 19 hours per week.
Technical Competencies:
Ability to use computer programs;
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize workload;
Ability to provide support services to both internal and external customers;
Ability to use proper judgment in selecting which issues to handle or re-direct;
Ability to identify customers’ issues and provide satisfactory resolution.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, one to two years of office experience.
Job Description Summary:
Under close supervision, provides clerical support and office assistance to Admissions Office and related personnel.
