Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Veterans Service Coordinator position in the Student Services Division.  This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s Main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta. 

Under general supervision of the Director of Student Services, the Full-Time Veterans Service Coordinator is responsible for providing support and guidance to military and veteran students, assisting with VA education benefits and certification process, and serve as a liaison to campus and community resources.

JOB RESPONSIBILITITES:

  • Manage all Veterans Center operations as the office lead and primary representative to campus stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Maintain and safeguard all official records in accordance with FERPA, VA regulations, auditing standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as the Primary School Certifying Official (SCO) for all VA education benefits, ensuring accurate, timely processing for veterans and dependents.
  • Monitor and track academic performance of veteran and military-affiliated students, including early alerts, academic standing, probation, and suspension interventions.
  • Coordinate with institutional partners such as the Center for Workforce Innovation and the career coaching staff to support job placement and career readiness for veterans.
  • Plan and execute veteran-centered programming, outreach initiatives, and community engagement activities.
  • Manage external partnerships (e.g., Georgia Department of Veterans Services, Warriors Alliance, and similar organizations) to expand support services for students.
  • Conduct annual program surveys and assessments to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Veterans Specialist to plan and execute events, workshops, and student programs.
  • Advise and support the Veterans Club to promote community engagement and student leadership development.
  • Serve as secondary contact for New Student Orientation (NSO) sessions and onboarding activities.
  • Conduct training events as part of the military and veteran-friendly Green Zone Program to promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Tuition Assistance (TA) Management Manage the TA platforms and workflows to streamline the student experience; and
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate a Bachelor’s degree AND a minimum of two (2) years working with military or veteran populations, preferably in a higher education setting. Experience or knowledge of Banner is a plus.
