Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Pre-K Lead Teacher position in the Childcare Center.  This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta. 

Under general supervision of the Child Enrichment Center Director, the Full-Time Pre-K Lead Teacher provides academic, instructional, and administrative leadership to ensure program quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. This is a grant funded position contingent upon availability of grant funding and successful performance reviews.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in executing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate educational activities.
• Monitor children during class, outdoor play, and mealtimes to ensure a secure environment.
• Help maintain classroom rules, routines, and positive guidance techniques.
• Encourage the children in experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization, and choice making.
• Organize materials, prep learning centers, and maintain cleanliness/ sanitation standards.
• Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment and facilitate communication with parents under the lead teacher’s direction.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
• Follow state guidelines set by the Georgia Department of Early Care and learning (DECAL); and
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (DECAL STANDARDS)

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Early Childhood, Special Education or related field

• Valid Georgia Educator Certificate or meet equivalent credentialing requirements set by the state
• Previous experience teaching in a preschool or early childhood setting
• Enrollment in the Georgia Professional Development Registry (GaPDS)

Minimum Qualifications:

The incumbent must meet all of the following minimum requirements: (1) Never have been found by credible -evidence, e.g. a court or jury, a department investigation or other reliable evidence to have abused, neglected -or deprived a child or adult or to have subjected any person to serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly -negligent misconduct; (2) be at least 18 years of age; (3) have current evidence of successful completion of a -biennial training program in CPR and a triennial training program in first aid which have been offered by -certified or licensed health care professionals and which dealt with the provision of emergency care to infants -and children if the caregiver is to be counted as part of the 50% of the child care staff with the required current -evidence of CPR and first aid training; (4) not be suffering from any physical handicap or mental health -disorder, which would interfere with the person's ability to perform assigned job duties adequately; (5) not have -a criminal record; (6) have either a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED) or one (1) year's -Instructor, Child Enrichment Center -Note: Pre-K Instructor positions must possess a minimum of a Bachelor s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related degree as a minimum qualification
