SALARY COMMENSURATE TO EXPERIENCE.Job Description:
Under general supervision, the Fac Maintenance Engineer 3 performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled building trades work in the repair, maintenance or construction of state buildings and related structures. Installs and maintains modular furniture systems, climate control, and other facilities systems. May serve as lead worker and/or supervise support staff. Position requires 24-hour on-call availability and must be an agency authorized driver with a valid driver's license. The Fac Maintenance Engineer 3 also performs other job-related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform general maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment
- Perform basic and skilled painting, carpentry, and roofing tasks
- Renovate or builds addition to existing facilities
- Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
- Repair and perform maintenance on plumbing fixtures, lighting, air vents and air conditioning units and facilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines operate smoothly, efficiently and physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
- Install, maintain, evaluate and repair any components of the systems
- Read, utilize blueprints, plans, drawings and sketches to determine the work to be performed and resources required
- Wear safety equipment and observe all safety practices and regulations
- Operate plant equipment and building automation systems
- Handle hazardous materials according to laws and regulations
- Operate trade related tools and equipment; maintain/assist an accurate inventory of all materials and equipment
- Keep accurate records and complete all paperwork including daily field reports, work orders and purchase orders
- Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Serve as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas
- Conduct preliminary walk-through with supervisor personnel prior to customer walk-through
- As directed, may serve as lead worker/supervise support staff
- As directed, operate a motor vehicle for transporting GBA tools and/or equipment as it relates to the position
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience OR Four years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Fac Maintenance Engineer 2 (FEP041) or position equivalent.Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
