Job Description:

POSITION: Economic Development Instructor; Part-Time

LOCATION: Clarkesville, GA (may include travel to other NGTC campuses and off-site locations)

DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision of the Vice President of Economic Development or designee, the Economic Development Instructor is responsible for providing non-credit classroom, laboratory, and on-site workforce training that meets the employee training needs of the business community within North Georgia Technical College’s Service Delivery Area. The position supports regional workforce and economic development initiatives by delivering training focused on industrial safety, quality systems, safety audits, regulatory compliance, and other workforce-related topics based on employer and community demand. Training services support employers across manufacturing, industrial operations, industrial maintenance, construction, logistics, utilities, public sector, service industries, and other business and industry environments. The instructor prepares instructional materials, delivers training, and evaluates students’ progress in attaining established goals and objectives. The position collaborates closely with the Economic Development Department to ensure that all training offerings operate at a net-positive level. The instructor works with diverse populations and may teach day, evening, or weekend hours at various locations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, industrial operations, construction, or related environments
  • Knowledge of industrial safety, quality, audits, and compliance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Teaching or training experience
  • Industry certifications such as OSHA, ISO, Quality Auditor, or Six Sigma
  • Experience with customized or employer-driven training
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
