The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking a qualified applicant to be considered for DOL Services Specialist/ Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) Coordinator position at the Atlanta Career Center.  

The RESEA program requires employees to work in specific geographic areas/designated career centers.

The position is located at 223 Courtland Street NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30303.

The Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) Coordinator, under supervision, provides career development and assessment services, job-training assistance, and/or other employment related services. This position emphasizes compliance, documentation, and participant support, ensuring program effectiveness and adherence to state and federal requirements.

Essential Function and Responsibilities

  • Working in a designated career center, incumbent provides career development and assessment services, referrals for job-training assistance, and/or other employment-related services.
  • Coordinates with partner agencies to identify workshops and presentations, job readiness events, or job fairs and hiring events for participants to attend.
  • Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with local partner agencies and employers to develop both referral and job opportunities for participants.
  • Evaluates application information and determines initial or ongoing program eligibility.
  • Performs job counseling with applicants to identify their abilities, needs, interests, and values in relation to job and career opportunities.
  • Provides career development and assessment services to clients for the purpose of matching their application skill sets to vacancies.
  • Performs a variety of professional functions related to the processing of unemployment insurance claims.
  • Reviews and confirms claimant eligibility for RESEA services under state and federal guidelines.
  • Verifies profiling outcomes and ensures participants are scheduled accurately for initial and subsequent appointments.
  • Conducts barrier assessments with claimants and document findings in case management systems.
  • Develops Individual Reemployment Plans (IRPs) to track identified barriers and planned referrals.
  • Refers participants to appropriate partner agencies (WorkSource Georgia, training providers, or community organizations) for services.
  • Monitors attendance, reschedules, and compliance with program requirements.
  • Maintains accurate case notes and documentation to support ETA 9128/9129 reporting.
  • Supports audits, quality reviews, and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborates with UI staff on issues of claimant non-compliance.
  • Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and two years of related experience or associate’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in employment services
  • Experience working in customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with unemployment insurance (UI), workforce development, or case management programs
  • Strong interviewing and assessment skills for identifying participant barriers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems (WorkSource Georgia or GeoSolutions preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Case management experience
  • Problem-solving and resourcefulness
