  • Marijuana Usage - Candidates that have used marijuana or cannabis in any form (natural or synthetic) and in any location (domestic or foreign) within (1) year preceding the date of application, will be disqualified.
  • Other Drugs - Candidates that have used any drugs other than marijuana, within 10 years preceding the date of application, will be disqualified.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Applicant Services team is responsible for all operations and functions associated with the non-criminal justice use of fingerprints and criminal history record information, such as supporting public and private agencies that utilize the Georgia Applicant Processing Services (GAPS); billing and proper use of the service; processing fingerprint-based criminal history requests for international adoptions and immigration; performing quality control; and responding to emails from both the general public and public/private agencies.

Duties also include providing support to federal, state and local non-criminal justice agencies and the general public relating to non-criminal justice information. Unit personnel process fingerprint submissions for employment and licensing purposes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

•  Experience in Customer Support (Provide support to customers through calls received on helpdesk and respond to inquiry emails; Perform first level problem determination and provide accurate resolution; Deliver professional, accurate and timely customer service; Provide information and guidance targeted to meet customer needs). 

• Ability to work independently and execute job responsibilities with minimal supervision

•  Ability to complete and follow self-paced instructions and trainings

•  Must be proficient with the use of a computer.

•  Mainly sedentary work in an office environment which included shared office space. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel. Occasionally light lifting/or moving boxes or supplies may be required.

NOTE: This position may require some travel and operating a state vehicle. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required.

AGENCY SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

 High school diploma or GED AND Two (2) years of related experience.


 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 Preference will be given to applicants that, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

  • One (1) year of customer service experience within a criminal justice environment. 
  • One (1) year of working knowledge of the criminal history programs and an understanding of criminal history records. 
  • Completion of 90 quarter hours/45 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
