The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking candidates for the position of the TIP Store Clerk at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Job Grade E

 Job Description:

Performs a variety of clerical functions/processes for the Therapeutic Incentive Program (TIP), which is a hospital-wide program that distributes awards based on individuals’ program compliance. Clerical duties may include document examination, purchasing, vendor management, compiling evidence, transcribing meeting minutes, developing operating procedures and research, or a similar level of work.  This requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Word and Excel.  The TIP Store Clerk will provide support to the TIP Storekeepers as needed and may require work on hospital units.  Duties may include, frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, working in different weather conditions, and frequent direct interaction with individuals utilizing TIP.

 Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Reviews files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests
  • Communicates with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate, or explain information, take orders, and address complaints
  • Completes tasks and assignments associated with administrative support functions (e.g., licensure, personnel, purchasing, records management, inventory, or similar function)
  • Computes, records, and proofreads data and other information, such as records or reports
  • Conducts research to produce reports
  • Maintains and updates filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer
  • Performs advanced level processing of documents and transactions according to prescribed procedures.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of the TIP system
  • Assist the TIP Coordinator in the implementation of the TIP system
  • Communicates training needs to the TIP Coordinator
  • Provides support and guidance to the TIP Storekeepers
  • Assist the TIP Coordinator in conducting hospital-wide orientation of new staff
  • Assist the TIP Coordinator in ensuring the orientation of newly admitted individuals
  • Troubleshoots challenges that arise regarding implementation, logistics, and data reporting
  • Prepares and track TIP orders
  • Assist the TIP Coordinator and Storekeepers with conducting and maintaining inventory

Sample Technical Competencies:

Computer skills

Microsoft Office Programs (particularly Word and Excel)

Ability to maintain routine clerical records

Ability to maintain and update filing, inventory and mailing system

Ability to perform basic bookkeeping and banking transactions

Ability to prepare all related reports

Ability to operate all office machines.

Self-starter and the ability to work independently or with minimum supervision

React calmly and effectively in critical and crisis situations

Ability to consistently follow verbal and written instructions

High school diploma or GED AND Four years of progressively complex office or administrative experience.
