General Description:

The Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Program will at any given time have in excess of two hundred (200) employees.   The Team Lead will be responsible for providing support daily to a minimum of ten (10) Rental Assistance Processors, Utility Specialist, and Underwriters.  Some of the daily oversight  will  include but, is not limited to, delegating tasks, developing process strategies for the Rental Assistance Processors, the Utility Specialists, and the Underwriters that will be used to reach program goals, guiding the team on reaching those goals, and providing training that the team members need to perform their duties.

 

The Team Lead hired for this position will be expected to provide a diverse range of support; for operational and programmatic activities within this office by working directly with the Operations Management Team.   Providing technical assistance to our front-line staff to ensure that they are following compliance, program development, and helping to ensure that performance measures are met are all functions that are vital to the success of the (ERA) Program.

 

The ability to coach, mentor, develop team strengths, improve weaknesses, and organize tasks are all characteristics that are vital to the success of the program.

Some of the key functions that will be expected of the person hired for this position is as follows:

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, federal programs, laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies applicable to the Emergency Rental Assistance Program
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, federal funding mechanisms, specifically related to the above-mentioned programs
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong oral communication skills to include written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to use independent judgement and discretion in managing situations and people, and resolving problems
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Soft
  • Responsible for assuring that all functions that are vital to the success of the Rental Assistance Program are communicated out to the team in the scope of daily responsibilities
  • Ability to recognize and acknowledge the skills of key team members and utilize their strengths to the benefit of the team
  • Ability to build trust and camaraderie between team members
  • Influence valuable changes and positive outcomes

 

Agency Specific Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND one year of related experience

OR

One (1) year of direct professional experience related to the relevant duties described for this position.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

DCA would like for preference to be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the agency specific minimum qualifications possess at least one of the following:

 

  • Experience with leading and achieving success on complex projects
  • Experience working as a Team Lead in some other professional capacity
  • Experience developing a timeline for projects and delegating the individual components to members of the team, including him/herself
  • Bilingual in the following languages; Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese

 

This job position is estimated to be needed for a minimum of 9 months and a maximum of 12 months.
