Summary: Under general supervision this position performs a variety of education and counseling, outreach, networking and clerical support functions for the Healthy Start (HS) Program, Community Action Network (CAN) and work groups. Must have experience in group facilitation, community advocacy, presentations and outreach. Plans and implements at least 4 CAN workgroups in Cobb and Douglas Counties. Communicates regularly with local agency representatives and attends local coalition, collaborative meetings each month. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb & Douglas Counties.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in public health education from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in education, social, behavioral or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in public health education.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in group facilitation, community advocacy, presentations, networking, outreach AND familiar with various video (meeting/conference) platforms.

 

Working Conditions & Pysical Demands: Works with agency representatives in the community 75% of the time. Will travel from the office to meeting places or complete ZOOM Meetings. 25% of work completed in the office. Must be able to carry a minimum of 15 pounds, navigate stairs and provide own transportation (with a valid Georgia drivers license and auto coverage. Overnight and out of state travel may be required for training.

 

Salary Information:   $18 per hour / Up to 29 hours per week
