Coordinator for Business & Industry Advanced Manufacturing Partnerships and IDSY Instructor Economic Development Division

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience in business and industry.
Previous work experience in a manufacturing industry or higher education directly supporting production systems and focused on continuous improvement of manufacturing systems, preventive/predictive maintenance of manufacturing systems, and implementing maintenance training programs in advanced manufacturing technologies. Expertise in advanced manufacturing technology disciplines such as PLCs and industrial robots and working knowledge of following control systems: Kuka, ABB, Fanuc robots, Allen-Bradley, and/or Siemens PLC controllers and certification in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. Must have the ability to work independently with excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field *and* seven (7) years technical or engineering degree from an accredited college *plus* a minimum combination of 3 years of experience delivering technical training and performing hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting work and a minimum of 3 years of sales and marketing experience preferably in the higher education or industrial sales in the technical or business fields *plus* proficiencies as outlined in the minimum qualifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Vice President of Economic Development in the college’s manufacturing initiatives related to building and maintaining relationships in the Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) service delivery area with local employers, workforce investment boards, government, non-profit agencies, and economic development organizations, and forming training partnerships and programming to meet the respective needs of these key stakeholders.
- Responsible for developing, planning, and implementing a comprehensive sales plan that would increase revenues. Coordinates with business community to identify companies in target business sectors and introduces them to SCTC noncredit training options, assessing existing and potential workforce needs and leading to the training program sale.
- Actively seeks new partnerships and teaming opportunities that align with the division and College’s mission and vision. Conducts needs assessments with employers and converts them into partnership opportunities, which include, but are not limited to customized corporate training, apprenticeships/internships for students, continuing education, and credit enrollment opportunities for employees, as well as corporate sponsorship opportunities.
- Provides effective leadership to expand lines of revenue for the College. Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.
- Plans and implements marketing campaigns for new products and services. Develops standardized outreach for current and future clients, coordinating its implementation across sales channels, client management, and marketing and communications,
- Coordinates with administration and faculty on the academic side of the College to develop, deliver, manage, and evaluate noncredit educational and training programs that meet the needs of business and industry in the service area as well as articulating into credit program opportunities for employees, all in compliance with all state, federal accreditation requirements.
- Engages with Career Services to meet area talent needs by connecting business, industry and organizations to graduates; creating student internships, apprenticeships and work-based learning opportunities; working closely with the academic side of the College to ensure that credit and noncredit programs align with changing business and industry needs; sharing business/industry data and information; etc.
- Plans and conducts outreach to the business community with the goal to develop new partnerships and delivery of college services. Promotes the local and regional brand for Southern Crescent Technical College programming. Engages with existing clients to uncover areas for contract expansion.
- Assists in the recruitment and supervision of part-time instructors.
- Assists in the recruitment and registration of prospective and enrolled students.
- Maintains workforce and technical knowledge of Continuing Education programs including, Industry Certifications, highly specialized IT programs, leadership programs, etc.
- Maintains documentation of sales practices, outreach attempts, and communications with clients. Analyzes data and reports on success of initiatives, revenue earnings and evaluates and recommends solutions for continued improvement and sales generation.
- Maintains professional contacts and plays an active leadership role in the service area, maintaining personal presence and visibility.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Vice President of Economic Development.
