CIS Instructor - Networking
Atlanta Technical College is seeking a full-time CIS - Networking Instructor. This position is located on ATC’s (Main) Campus, which is just South of Downtown Atlanta. The duties of the instructor include but are not limited to the following responsibilities:
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Teach courses in programming and prepare daily instructional plans and instructional materials at the modular level as directed by the program chair.
- Assist in student recruiting and graduate placement.
- Be willing to be retrained in any emerging and adopted programming language or cloud computing.
- Communicate subject material to students in an understandable and patience format.
- Uphold records of student attendance, student progress, departmental supplies, departmental equipment, and others.
- Enforce the approved departmental rules and regulations in the classroom and lab.
- Evaluate the progress and performance of the student and assign grades.
- Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
- Evaluates the students progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Ensures that safety and security requirements are met in the learning environment.
- Prepares lesson plans for instruction of classes.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with at least 2 years of teaching experience in networking, cybersecurity, installation, and maintenance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
M.SC in Computer Science or MA with 18 graduate credit hours in computer information system. At least 2 years of teaching experience in networking, cybersecurity, installation, and maintenance. Additional preference will be given to candidates who are proficient in ICloud computing, network automation, computer maintenance and repair.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Preferable AWS cloud, cybersecurity, swift, A+, and willing to be trained.
