Salary Details: The starting salary for this position is $32,103.56
Duties & Responsibilities: Supervises a full caseload of parolees providing case planning and classification for purposes of tailoring supervision to an individual; conducts interviews with parolees, family members, referral counselors and law enforcement personnel to determine compliance with parole conditions. Investigates allegations of parole violations including both technical and criminal elements. Requests and serve warrants as the situation dictates. Completes supervision reports.
Minimum Training & Experience: Completion of an undergraduate major at an accredited four year college or university. Note: Position require applicants to be at least 21 years of age, a valid driver's license and meet the legal requirements for peace officers as prescribed by theGeorgia Peace Officer Standards Training Council
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications: The entry level professional position with the State Board of Pardons and Paroles is Parole Officer. Candidates must meet the following requirements to qualify:
•21 Years of Age
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university
•An acceptable score on the COMPASS, ASSET, SAT, ACT, or CPE test
•Applicants must have and maintain a valid state of Georgia driver's license
•Males ages 21 thru 25 must be registered with Selective Service
NOTE: Current POST certified State of Georgia employees who have previously taken and passed the Criminal Justice test are exempt from the above testing requirements.
Should the candidate be unable to present an acceptable copy of an ACT, SAT or CPE score, candidates must possess the following minimum ASSETT or COMPASS scores
*Scores are used for evaluation purposes only and does not determine whether a candidate successfully passes the exam. Persons attending a Basic Law Enforcement Training Course (BLETC) at one of the Technical Colleges in Georgia are required to achieve this minimum score.

Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from an accredited college or university
Undergraduate major in Criminal Justice
One (1) year of law enforcement experience
Fluency in Spanish and/or Asian dialects
•Georgia law requires that incumbents in this class be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
•Applicants must meet the legal requirements for Peace Officers prescribed by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council.
•Applicants are subject to a thorough background investigation.
•Applicants must have and maintain a valid state of Georgia driver's license.
