Annual Salary Minimum:
$31,474.08
Annual Salary Maximum:
$55,072.08
Salary Details: Paygrade 14 (unclassified position) Candidates outside of state government are typically hired between the entry salary ($32,418.30) and ($37,768.90). Negotable depending upon credentials and availabilty of funds.
Duties & Responsibilities: Under general supervision, supports Emergency Preparedness initiatives in a Public Health District. Supports the integration of local Public Health emergency preparedness efforts with those within a District's relevant Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) area(s). Provides technical assistance to state and local responders in the District in preparing for and responding to Bioterrorism and other emergency events. Supports the overall integration of area hospitals and other community responders in preparing for and responding to Bioterrorism and other emergency events.
Minimum Training & Experience: Completion of a Bachelor's degree in any major area;
AND
Two years of professional level experience in public health, emergency management, emergency planning/response coordination, disaster relief planning/response, or a closely related field.
NOTE: Experience may substitute for education if evaluated as equivalent.
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications also possess a background in the following:
- 2 years experience in emergency preparedness, response, and training
- Experience in community outreach
- Experience in volunteer program coordination including recruiting, training and management
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) to all levels of staff
- Experience facilitating meetings
